In a free society, we would not have such a problem. While I am not particularly religious, I find it outrageous that the government is actually enforcing this law.
On a side note, NYC has been getting aggressive about fining people over its various ordinances. The health and sanitation department made a sweep through my neighborhood and fined the owner of my apartment building $300. I don't like the government or my landlord, so I have no opinion in favor of anyone on this matter. I just want to know where these people who are fining my landlord were during the good times.
