Yesterday we gave Giles Clarke, chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, our prestigious Unbelievable Claim of the Day Award after he told the BBC he had received 9000 supportive e-mails over the Allen Stanford affair.
So it was interesting to see this correction in the Guardian today:
A report quoted Giles Clarke, chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, saying the ECB had taken external advice from KPMG on a deal proposed by Sir Allen Stanford. He was mistaken; the ECB advises that KPMG was not consulted on the proposal.
