Intra-clerical tussle heats up in Iran

Ayatollah Ayman Khatami, no relation to the country’s former president, a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090724/wl_nm/us_iran_1"warned more reformist clerics/a over what he called plots to weaken the standing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Khatami’s comments seemed timed for this week’s Friday prayers, given Grand Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani’s speech last Friday.br /br /Meanwhile, in an interesting change, a majority of Assembly of Experts, chaired by Rafsanjani, called on him to support Khamenei.br /br /Sure, Congress health plan may be better than many, but it’s not everything.div class="blogger-post-footer"There is no god and I am his prophet.img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7532871-8321126803577715295?l=socraticgadfly.blogspot.com'//div
