Segway sales soar: The Lembit effect?

Let us be honest. Despite the patronage of the Lib Dem member for Montgomeryshire, the Segway has been slow to take off in Britain.br /br /But that may all be changing.br /br /According to the a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/5978264/Segway-scooter-sales-rise-11.5-per-cent.html"Daily Telegraph/a:br /blockquotepWayne Mitchell, manager of Segway UK, said there were now more than 2,000 of the vehicles in use in Britain despite them being prohibited on public roads./ppHe said: "Sales were up 11.5 per cent in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year and I think more people are seeing them around. We sold 200 last year."/p/blockquoteWait a minute. If he sold 200 last year, then he sold around 100 in the first six months. So an 11.8 per cent increase is about 12 machines.br /br /Not as impressive as all that, then. Time for Lembit to take to the lanes of Mid Wales again.div class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6606798-3745028402478314122?l=liberalengland.blogspot.com'//div
